Our sunny studio apartment sleeps 2 (+1 child on the sofa), and is located within Gosau’s prestigious Vitalhotel leisure complex, with its wonderful facilities for relaxing after active or lazy days in the mountains - free use of pool and sauna, and special prices for dining in the hotel restaurant, too.

High up on 3rd floor, our south-west facing balcony has one of best views in the building over the meadows to the Dachstein mountain and ski slopes nearby. Gosau is the Salzkammergut region’s top ski resort, and is also popular for walking, with 400+ kms of marked trails, in other seasons.

It consists of a large living/sleeping room (38sqm) with two beds and a wardrobe at the rear and a large sofa, sideboard and a dining table at the front. We also have a kitchen and bathroom. Our sunny balcony is a great place to relax and eat in summer.

The complex comes with a great mix of facilities that guests love to use after busy, active or lazy days in the mountains and lakes. There is a wellness centre with massage and a steam room, a fitness centre, games room, a ski and boot locker, indoor tennis courts, gardens, and bike hire as well as a full-service restaurant, bars and sun terraces. Our guests have free use of the indoor pool and sauna.

The buildings are surrounded by meadows, and a small river passes it, with the village centre only 500m away. The Gosaukamm range at the end of the valley above Gosausee is a stunning sight!

Guests can take meals in the hotel’s restaurant, at our specially discounted prices, or cook their own meals in the apartment - sitting on our private balcony is wonderful whilst dining, as the sounds of the cowbells and distant church bells create a relaxing and memorable atmosphere. Our kitchen is ideal for preparing snacks and picnics as well, but with a wide choice of local restaurants in the village and beside Gosausee and Halstattersee and Grundlsee it is temping to eat out a lot of the time!

Set in the unspoilt heart of the beautiful Salzkammergut lakes region, Gosau is the region’s premier ski resort (for Dachstein-West), and is central for a wide range of exhilarating outdoor activities such as skiing, hiking, biking, rock-climbing, white water rafting and paragliding. On top of that there is lake swimming, boat trips, golf, fishing, a cog railway, several spa towns, a salt mine and the Ice Cave to visit locally.

With relaxing spa treatments available on site, our apartment is a lovely place to return to each evening, and is also an ideal destination for a romantic break for couples of all ages, in summer or winter.

Reaching Gosau by road is a pleasant experience with good fast roads and lovely scenery around the numerous lakes. Salzburg is only 50 minutes away, to visit and for flights. Buses run regularly through the valleys, but a car is recommended (although regular bus services link the valleys), as it allows guests to explore the local area at their own pace.

A minimum of four nights is required to stay here, and if guests would like another private apartment for their friends, they can book it, if available, through the owners.

The Tourist Office is the place to go for the Tourist Discount Card for the many local attractions.

Outside of Gosau valley, 15 kms is Hallstatt, with its Salt Mine, lakeside village, shops and restaurants. It is a very pretty place!
At Abtenau is white water rafting, tubing and canyoning - very exciting!
At Obertraun, on the cable car, is the Ice Cave and '5 Fingers' Panorama walk.
At Bad Aussee is lake swimming, boat rides, places to eat and walk.
At Bad Ischll is shopping and markets and the Spa!
At St Wolfgang is the famous White Horse Inn, a cog-railway ride up Schaffell, boat rides and walks

Local Charges: The guests must pay Tourist Tax, collected by the hotel Reception, on arrival: This is 1.70 Euro / day / adult, and 0.85 Euro / day / child.
An 'End of Stay' cleaning charge of 45 Euro will also be collected.
